Design and Looks
The design on the phone stands at 4.3x2.7x0.77 and weighs about 0.7 ounces. The phone has the similar looks to the standard 8800 series model and gives a good grip in the palm. The screen on the phone features a silver border and there are dedicated call and end keys available on the phone. The right spine on the phone contains the track wheel and the back key whereas the left side houses the mini-USB connector. There is sadly no camera or expandable memory capabilities on the device.
The screen on the phone is a 320x240 pixels displaying up to 65,000 colors. The screen sports a nice clear display and bright enough to read documents with ease. The QWERTY keyboard on the device comes with rectangular shaped keys. The distance between them is not much and thus could be a problem when typing at higher speeds. For normal typing speeds the keyboard handles fine and does a pretty good job.
The phone comes loaded with impressive set of applications such as Google Maps and also Pocket Express and so on. There is also a shortcut on the phone available to download the messenger client which supports AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. There are also PIM tools plus a calculator, an alarm, a memo pad and Brick Breaker.
Under the hood the phone comes along with an Intel Xscale processor. The internal memory on the phone comprises of 64MB RAM and 16MB of SDRAM. On the communication front, considering local connection, the phone supports Bluetooth and one can use a wireless headset with ease. The phone features a quad band GSM and thus can operate in any part of the world. The browsing experience on the phone is good and the EDGE support helps for faster speeds. The battery on the phone is rated for 4 hours of talk time and up to 16 days of standby time which is decent for a Smartphone.
Overall it's not a phone to purchase if you're looking for just calling features. The phone features excellent email options and messaging tools which make it a professional tool and not for novice.
