Design and Looks
The BlackBerry 7130g stands at 56x114.5x18.4mm and weighs about 120g. The design of the phone is more like a regular cell phone rather than the standard design of the BlackBerry device. The screen on the phone features 240x260 pixels and is able to display about 65000 colors. The screen supports light sensor and thus is able to adjust its brightness according to the ambient light conditions prevalent.
There is no camera on the mobile phone as well as the Bluetooth 2.0 on the cell phone can only be used for handsets and hands free kits. The company has disabled the Bluetooth transfer on the device stating that many of the corporate firms do not want their employees to transfer data via the Bluetooth.
On the interface side the phone does well with its interface and has a good set of features onboard for the business people. The eOffice on the handset includes a mobile suite that includes a word processor and a spreadsheet tool. There is also messenger services available on the phone such as Yahoo Messenger which make it a great option to stay connected with your colleagues on the move.
For the maps, the phone sports Google Maps which is a strong inclusion and a great deal of software for navigation.
The phone sports EDGE and GPRS which makes the web browsing on the phone at blazing speeds even on roaming. The phone itself is a quad band handset and thus can be used around the world. The battery on the phone is amazing and gives about 4 hours of talk time and about 18 days of standby time. Overall the BlackBerry 7130g is a great phone and also being a fully functional email device makes a great companion on the road. The device appeals to business consumers who are on move and need a phone as well as a mailing device.
